Zarifa's Events - April 19, 2008 - Grants Pass, Oregon
Third Anniversary Celebration
Zarifa's Touch of Egypt will celebrate it's third year of offering affordable belly dance costume and accessories, Egyptian decor, and metaphysical supplies on Saturday, April 19, from 2-5 PM. Included in the festivities will be live drumming, dancing, gift giveaways up to $200 in merchandise, and a few surprises as well. More details as the weekend approaches; come celebrate with us!
On a scant budget, Zarifa opened the doors of Zarifa's Touch of Egypt at 914 SW 6th Street in Grants Pass, Oregon on April 16, 2005, occupying the small 900 square foot suite with her first inventory of belly dance costume and Egyptian decor. By January 2006, her online store was fully developed and live, and orders started coming in at a rate five times what she expected.
On March 16, 2006, Zarifa applied for a U.S. trademark on her logo and the words "Touch of Egypt," which was finalized in March of 2007, under the registration # 3,215,269. in June of 2006, the neighboring business moved to another location, allowing her to expand into the adjoining suite which she remodeled and converted to a small dance studio and Temple of Isis. Zarifa holds classes three nights a week for beginning and intermediate belly dance students.
In March of 2007, Zarifa organized the first Zarifa's Community Belly Dance, a monthly event held at the G Street Bar and Grill in Grants Pass. The Community dance is an open forum for all dancers, beginner or professional, to practice routines, network with other dancers, and just enjoy the dance. Zarifa recently celebrated the first anniversary of the Community Dance in March of this year.
